The NMC Barbecue is one of northern Michigan's most popular and enduring traditions. The annual event brings thousands of people to NMC's main campus for an old-fashioned picnic and a chance to see their community college, with about 5,432 meals served at the 63rd annual barbecue in 2018.  Events for families included:

    • Bonsai display in sculpture court

  3. OSTERLIN BUILDING
    • Library open 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Children’s book readings: Readings will take place every hour from 12:30-3:30 p.m., with a visit from the National Cherry Queen at 2:30 p.m.!
  4. ALUMNI TENT
    • Alumni are invited to connect with the NMC Alumni Relations Program
    • Update your contact info for a chance to win a prize!
    • Visit with Nursing Program Alumni and purchase kayak raffle tickets (R46481)

'The Cake and Cupcake Walk' is staffed by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Traverse Bay Twilight which involves set up on Saturday, May 18 then facilitating the 'muscial chair event' in which participants win cakes created by the NMC Culinary Institute and the TBAISD Culinary Students with cupcakes donates by Olson's Food Stores.  Take down following the event finish at 5:00 on Sunday.
